I'm Peggy Hutton — a local business owner who has called this valley home for more than forty years. I'm running for a Sonoma that's ready for wildfire, safe every day, and beautiful for generations to come.

Meet Peggy

Forty years of loving this valley.

Peggy Hutton is a Japanese-American woman who has made Sonoma her home for more than four decades. She raised her family here, built a business here, and knows the valley the way only someone who has watched it change over a lifetime can.

As the founder of High Tech Screens & Shades and a member of the Sonoma Valley Executives, she understands what it takes to build something lasting — and to give back to the community that made it possible.

Why I'm running

A Sonoma that's ready before the smoke.

We live in a place of extraordinary beauty — and real wildfire risk. I'm running because keeping our families safe should never be an afterthought. Preparation is something we build, together, on the calm days — so we're ready when the wind turns.

  • Clear evacuation routes

Fix the chokepoints, harden key roads, and drill so every household knows its zone.

  • Alerts that reach everyone

SoCo Alerts, Nixle, and Watch Duty — including our seniors and non-English speakers.

  • Defensible space

Fuel reduction and home hardening with the Sonoma Valley Fire District.

  • Neighbors ready

Grow CERT teams so blocks can care for one another in the first hours.

The platform

What I'll fight for on the council

Four priorities, one goal: a Sonoma that's safe, prepared, and as beautiful for our grandchildren as it was for us.

Rooted here

More than forty years in Sonoma — this valley is not a talking point for me, it's home.

A builder, not a bystander

I started a business from the ground up. I know how to set a goal, make a plan, and get it done.

For the next generation

Everything I want for Sonoma comes down to one thing: leaving it safer and more beautiful than we found it.

Rooted in the Sonoma community
