A lifetime in the valley she calls home.
For more than forty years, Sonoma has been Peggy's home — the place she raised a family, built a business, and put down the kind of roots that only come with a lifetime of caring for a community.

Rooted in Sonoma
Peggy Hutton is a Japanese-American woman who has spent more than four decades in the Sonoma Valley. In that time she has watched the seasons turn over the vineyards, seen the community come together through good years and hard ones, and grown to love this place with the quiet devotion of someone who intends to stay.
That love is not sentimental — it's practical. Peggy has lived through Sonoma's fire seasons and knows, firsthand, what it means to live in a place of great beauty and real risk. It is exactly that combination — a deep affection for the valley and a clear-eyed sense of what threatens it — that moves her to serve.
A business built here
Peggy is the founder and owner of High Tech Screens & Shades, a local business she grew from the ground up. Running a company in Sonoma taught her the skills a city needs on its council: setting priorities, managing a budget responsibly, listening to people, and following through until the job is done.
She is also a member of the Sonoma Valley Executives, standing shoulder to shoulder with the local leaders and business owners for over 10 years promoting other businesses by giving referrals to outside as well as inside businesses.

This valley isn't a talking point. It's home.
Peggy's story isn't a campaign slogan — it's a life. Four decades of raising a family, building a business, and caring for the community around her have given her something no newcomer can claim: a deep, lived love for Sonoma, and a stake in its future that is entirely personal.
It's that love — for the valley, and for the generations who will inherit it — that leads her to serve.
“I've loved this valley for forty years. Now I want to make sure it's safe, prepared, and just as beautiful for the people who'll call it home long after us.”
Why she's running
In 2026, Sonoma elects its City Council by district for the first time — giving the neighborhoods of District 1 their own voice at City Hall. Peggy is running to be that voice: focused on wildfire preparedness and public safety, protective of the character and beauty that make Sonoma special, and committed to a city that works for its residents and its small businesses alike.
